The purpose of the club is to promote fellowship among former students and friends of Texas A&M. A primary goal is to support academic scholarships to attend Texas A&M for graduates of Capital City Area Highschools. While providing monies for this and other charitable causes, we enhance the public image of Texas A&M University. We also cooperate with and assist the officials of Texas A&M and the Association of Former Students.

Howdy Austin Ags! I am excited about all the Capital City A&M Club will have to offer Austin area Former Students this year. The incoming board has been working hard these last few months to identify the needs of our former students and plan for a successful 2010.

We are revamping our professional program to provide more opportunities for networking and forging true professional relationships. We will continue to schedule happy hours and watch parties, provide a forum for participation in intramurals, family events, and community service with fellow Aggies, plan Muster and Coach's Night, bring speakers for dinner and lunch programs, and most importantly, provide scholarships to A&M for Austin area students.

Your contributions through dues, donations, and your volunteer service make all of this possible, and it is appreciated. For 2010, I would encourage you to find your place at the Capital City A&M Club if you haven't already. There are many volunteer opportunities, and plenty of events to attend. It is a maroon oasis in the burnt orange desert.
