About Aggie Muster 2024

 

The Capital City A&M Club is honored to host Austin Muster 2024 on April 21st.

5:30 pm – Howdy Hour (Beer & Wine Cash Bar)

6:00 pm – Dinner begins

7:00 pm – Muster Ceremony & Roll Call for the Absent

 

 

Roll Call:

The Capital City A&M Club invites you and your family to honor your loved one and celebrate their life at our Muster ceremony.  Please visit Muster Roll Call if you would like to add a name to the Muster Roll Call.

Family and close friends of Roll Call honorees are encouraged to arrive by 6:00 pm to check in at the designated table within the venue.  One individual will be asked to answer "Here" and light a candle for the honoree during the Roll Call Ceremony.

Each year, Aggies gather to celebrate Muster at over 300 locations around the world. Each of these celebrations is unique, reflecting the preferences and personalities of the communities and volunteers that step forward to host them. The Capital City A&M Club will host the 2024 Austin Aggie Muster on April 21, 2024 at the Bullock State History Museum. Tickets for the meal and ceremony must be purchased, link coming soon. This year we are honored that this year's Muster Speaker will be Bill Jones ‘81, Principal at The Jones Firm. Mr. Jones served as General Counsel to the Office of the Governor of the State of Texas for Governor Rick Perry from December 2000 to November 2003. From November 2003 to December 2005, he served as a partner with Locke Liddell & Sapp, LLP in the Austin office practicing in government relations and commercial litigation. From January 2006 to February 2010, he served as a partner with the Austin office of Vinson & Elkins, L.L.P. practicing in public law.  He currently owns The Jones Firm, a public law and government relations firm in Austin and is Co-Managing Partner in a start-up company, AFCI Texas, LLC. Mr. Jones is Chairman Emeritus of the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents where he served as a Regent for eight years. Bill also served for eight years as a Governor-appointed Commissioner on the Texas Parks & Wildlife Commission. He was former President of the Texas African American History Memorial Foundation which erected a Memorial on the State Capitol Grounds dedicated to African American history in the State of Texas. Bill was appointed to the ERCOT Selection Committee by Speaker Phelan in 2021 and currently serves as Treasurer of the Texas Association of Business, which is an advocacy group dedicated to promoting the interest of business in Texas. In February 2022, Bill received the Distinguished Alumni Award at Texas A&M University.

Dinner:

Catered dinner will run from 6:00 - 7:00pm and is included with purchase of a ticket to Muster.

 

Parking:

On-site parking is available for free after 5pm at the Bullock Museum Parking Garage. The garage is easily accessed via 18th Street, located on the south side of the Museum. Follow the Parking signs as you approach the Museum. Designated and accessible parking spaces are located near the elevators on each level of the garage.

 

Attire: 

Aggie casual - jeans, button downs, polos, etc. are appropriate.
